Baptism

A child is usually baptized within six months to a year of his/her birth.  Please contact the parish secretary to arrange for a Baptism at: (203) 758-2659 or stjohnofthecross@aohct.org.  A Baptism preparation class is required for the parents before Baptism.  For Baptism of older children, further classes or special arrangements may be required.

First Reconciliation & First Communion

Religious education classes begin at age 5-6.  First grade is a prerequisite for First Reconciliation and First Communion.  Please contact Annette Williams at  (203) 758-1346 or annette@stjohnofthecrosschurch.org

Confirmation

Marriage

Please contact the Pastor at (203) 758-2659 to make these arrangements at least six months to a year prior to the wedding date.  Wedding plan commitments should not be set until the couple meets with the Pastor. Couples must attend a Diocesan sponsored Marriage Preparation workshop, which can be arranged by calling (203) 758-2659 or email Father Symolon at pastor@stjohnofthecrosschurch.org

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation, or Confession, is celebrated Saturday afternoons at 3:30p.m. in the church, immediately before the Vigil Mass (4:30 p.m.).  Arrangements can be made anytime by appointment.   Please feel welcome to call the Pastor at (203) 758-2659 or email Father Symolon at pastor@stjohnofthecrosschurch.org

Anointing of the Sick

Please contact the Parish Office if you wish to receive this Sacrament or wish to receive Holy Communion at home:  (203) 758-2659.

Regular visits are made (weekly) to Middlebury Convalescent Home, but due to privacy laws, patient information cannot be shared by the hospitals.    If you or a loved one is hospitalized, please call the parish office at (203) 758-2659 or email the Parish Office at st.john@snet.netor Father Symolon atpastor@stjohnofthecrosschurch.org
