The Peer Ministry Program is for the High School Youth of St. John of the Cross
The purpose of the program is twofold:
To provide St. John of the Cross Parish with a team of young people able to minister in areas of retreats, service programs, liturgy, social events, or other areas of need in our community.
To train young people to have a confidence to minister in the areas listed above as Disciples of Christ!
The program is for confirmed high school students:
Who wish to share their gifts, talents, and Catholic Christian faith with others especially their peers.
Who wish to strengthen their own faith.
Who are seeking a greater personal involvement in our parish.
We are looking for a diverse group of high school youth with varied interests and experiences.
Acceptance will be based on:
Weekly attendance at Mass,
Participation in Youth Events,
Willingness to work with the Pastor and the High School Coordinator.
Interest in serving peers,
Interview with Father Symolon
Peer ministers will be Commissioned by Father Symolon at a Sunday Mass in their junior year of high school and will serve in this ministry during their junior and senior year.
