Get Involved

Jesus instructed us to “love one another.” It is in this spirit that we serve our brothers and sisters, both within and outside of our parish community. St. John of the Cross provides many opportunities for service, for all generations of parishioners.

Volunteer opportunities within the parish community include liturgical ministries, religious education teaching and support, and community-enhancing activities, especially our annual Tag Sale and Parish Picnic.

Reaching out to our larger community, parishioners have the opportunity through the parish to engage in such ministries as Sandwich Making Teams for the St. Vincent de Paul Soup kitchen, our annual Christmas Giving Tree, as well as numerous food and other drives throughout the year.

As a community, we are acutely aware of the need to engage our teens and young adults in their Catholic faith, and provide multiple opportunities through the intersection of our religious education program and liturgical celebrations as well as parish community events for them to be active participants and put their “faith in action.” In addition, our confirmed youth are invited to participate at a higher level of commitment, as a Junior or Senior in High School, through our Peer Ministry Program.
